practical observation poem #3

                                    Midwest trees die

                        collectively.

                a flourish of genocide.

West Coast trees are vast, variant, vapid

derivative of flesh and bone

derivative of the people who soak in their shade.

Midwest trees bloom

                        collectively.

                a swarm of slaughter.

West Coast trees are forever, insignificant, endless

derivative of free-ways that you are now expected to pay for

derivative of the people who drive on its veins.
